Western Canadian Championships

Western Canadian Championships at Greg Moore Raceway

This series has an incentive. The opportunity to represent Canada and become the world champion at the end of this year in Portugal. In  total 264 drivers (senior, junior, DD2 and DD2 Masters classes) from all around the world will be invited to race this CIKFIA “authorized series” at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Portimão, Portugal, November 27 to Dec. 1st 2012. Sixty countries are involved.

Here at Greg Moore Raceway we had the honor to host “Round One” of this “Western Canadian Championship Series” with round two being held in Saskatoon and round three being hosted in Calgary. We ran six groups throughout weekend. They were, Micro-MAX, B&S Junior 1 & 2, MAX – Junior, Mini-MAX , DD2, and MAX & MAX Masters.

When I started writing this, I thought I would post pictures of all the winners, stats, times, etc…but soon realized all that stuff is out there on other sites. So you’ll find links to everything that isn’t here. Today we can take a closer look at the happenings inside the pits and a look at the practice session from inside the track.

These shots are from May the 18th as we kicked off the Western Canadian Championships (WCC) in Chilliwack B.C. with a full day of practice for all the competitors. The track was in fine condition and the weather was cooperative throughout the day.

I’ll have some shots of the karts in action as soon as I get them finished. (That’s pretty soon)
